CBCA Book of the Year Awards 2015: winners

Winners in this year's Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards have been announced!

We are delighted to reveal that The Cleo Stories: The Necklace and the Present by Libby Gleeson, illustrated by Freya Blackwood, has won the CBCA Book of the Year Award for Younger Readers, while One Minute's Silence by David Metzenthen, illustrated by Michael Camilleri, has been awarded the Crichton Award for New Illustrators. One Minute's Silence is also the Honour Book for Picture Books. Noni the Pony Goes to the Beach by Alison Lester is the Honour Book for Early Childhood.

The Children's Book Council of Australia is a not for profit organisation that aims to engage the community with literature for young Australians. The annual awards have been running since 1946 and are Australia's most prestigious awards for children's books.
