A brief history of civilisation (with all the gory bits left in)

Beverley MacDonald , illustrated by Andrew Weldon
NZD $21.99

Full of provocative facts and true stories of courage, rebellion and survival, this book will encourage young people to examine their own beliefs and values.

Are cannibals civilised?

Is the guillotine a humane form of execution?

Would you be prepared to die to defend your beliefs?

The story of human civilisation is written in blood, so how did we end up where we are today? With a mix of provocative facts, gory details and amazing stories of personal courage, Beverley MacDonald takes us on a race through history, as she asks the biggest question of all: What sort of society do you want to live in?
